A surgery to cure an ailment should not be put off for fear of the pain involved, as escaping it will only complicate the ailment and make the experience more painful when performed at a later date.
The company of your Guru is a surgery to destroy your ego – your greatest enemy to Liberation. While you are enslaved by his boundless love, your ego is routed out. There is no escape from it; if not now, it has to be done in some future birth.
