Test to determine whether we can remember in our last moments by Sri Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Swamigal [Maha Periyava] of Kaanchi Kaamakoti Peetam

Test to determine whether we can remember in our last moments by Sri Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Swamigal [Maha Periyava] of Kaanchi Kaamakoti Peetam

The thought that seize out one's mind for life long period would surely, strongly surface during the last breath. Likewise we ourselves can have a test to determine whether it's possible to have an active remembrance of the lord when our soul departs the body.

Our holy scriptures (sastras) declares that the sleep we have on daily basis is similar to death. When we are  fast asleep we do not have any awareness of our senses and wisdom (Gjana).Thats why it's been named as ' nithya pralaya'.

Hence on daily basis we can try whether we can think only about God 's name before we go for a sleep. We can think of the lord that we adored much. No other thought should occupy our mind. It seems to be easy while saying so. But the reality is, its very difficult to practice.  Let the thinking be about of Kaamakshi, Natajara, Dakshinamurthy, Venkatramana or Muruga – its very intricate indeed to think flawlessly without any other thought.

We may think 'what's so challenging to think of a Guru or God whose very thought  provides so much of energy and relieve to the mind?'. But for no apparent reason the mind would start wandering within the few minutes from the very divinely thought and would eventually gets a sleep by having material thoughts.

We should be certain that we can ceaselessly think of the lord if we develop a practice slowly without getting cheated by the mind. All depends on our practice and tireless efforts. The supreme god (Paramathma) Himself will provide the strength based on our fortitude.
