This Lila of the Lord was performed not for the sake of the Azhwar but for our sake: for stressing a point to us. What is the message of the Lord to us, in this?—'if you are deeply devoted to ME and happen to stray away, I will bring you back. I will never give up on you! 'Shipram bhavati dharmatma!'. I will make you virtuous ['dharmatma'].'

In Kali, Bhakti means singing the Divine Name of the Lord ['Bhagavan Nama kirtan'], listening to Bhagavat stories ('katha sravanam'), having darshan of the Lord in Temples.

Please check these: Excerpts from a discourse by our Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

To keep the temple as the real temple, Nama Kirtan has to be done there too

Would one wonder if he is uttering the Name of the Lord in the Temple or the Name of a Conscious God?

Krishna does not complain, but decides, "Well! I will sit on your tongue in the form of Nama (Name)

Going to temples, performing puja etc. cleanse our mind and a pure mind is essential if one is to attain jnana.

In this Yuga, three activities are alone enough to attain the Lord –worship in temples, Satsang, and Nama Kirtan. Satsang here, means the reading of Srimad Bhagavatam, listening to the stories and qualities of the Lord, the lives of great Mahans etc.

The mother holds the child by the hand and leads and protects the child from falling in any pit that may be found on the way. Likewise, God takes hold of his devotee and removes all the hurdles in his/her way.

Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan :

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
