"Even now the slightest thing awakens God-Consciousness in me. Rakhal used to repeat the name of God half aloud. At such times I couldn't control myself. It would rouse my spiritual consciousness and overwhelm me."

The way to realize God in the Kaliyuga is the path of bhakti as prescribed by Narada

Nama Article 29th November 2012

MASTER : "I said to Keshab: 'Chant the name of Hari. In the Kaliyuga one should sing the name and glories of God.' After that they began to sing the name of God with drums and cymbals.

"Do you know how my faith in the name of Hari was all the more strengthened? Holy men, as you know, frequently visit the temple garden. Once a sadhu from Multan arrived. He was waiting for a party going to Gangasagar. (Pointing to M.) The sadhu was of his age. It was he who said to me, 'The way to realize God in the Kaliyuga is the path of bhakti as prescribed by Narada.'

By the very hearing of Lord’s holy Name one is totally purified.

Nama Article 28th November 2012

Srimad Bhagavatham 9:5:16

यन्-नाम-श्रुति-मात्रेण पुमान् भवति निर्मलः
तस्य तीर्थ-पदः किं वा दासानाम् अवशिष्यते

By the very hearing of Lord's holy Name one is totally purified. What could there be impossible for those devoted to the Holy feet of the Lord ?

Please check these: Excerpts from a discourse by our Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji
Hearing whose glory all are cleansed of their impurities at once.
This shloka in Srimad Bhagavatham explains that one gets many auspicious benefits immediately even on hearing the Divine Names of the Lord.

If you are not able to perform Nama Sankirtan, at least listen to Nama Sankirtan. Hear the Nama regularly or go and sit in a place where Nama is being chanted.

To awaken us to the state of Truth, we need sounds which are above this worldly plane and are established in Reality.

Even if one is not able to Chant the Divine Name of Rama, one should hear others Chant of Divine Name Rama.

However, he concludes, 'only due to merits earned in crores of births does Bhagavan Năma come on our tongue.'

Of all the various people who are physically challenged, I get extremely moved when I come across people who are deaf and dumb. This is because they cannot hear or utter the Divine Names.

Those people who take pleasure in continuously hearing, chanting and remembering Your activities, certainly very soon will see Your lotus feet, who put the recurrence of rebirths to an end.

Saintly persons (sadhus) hear, sing, and recite a literature, of such a writing describes the glory of the names of God.

If you think of one God , sing and hear his glories only , mingle with HIS devotees and do service only to him, your mind would attain one-pointedness

Why did he say that one should dance about on the streets (singing the glory of the Lord)?

Immediately that dumb boy gained divine knowledge and started dancing, singing the Divine Names, `Rama' and `Krishna'

The holy places themselves owe their sanctity to this confluence (the Lord, the Devotee and the Name). Auspicious, indeed, is every moment spent at the Saints' feet.

Sant Tukaram

Satsang is the confluence of the Triveni* of the Lord, the Devotee and the Name.

The very dust of satsang is sacred and hallowed.

Who sing the praises of the Lord and listen to the tale of His glory,

The mountain of their sins is consumed and they become pure.

The holy places themselves owe their sanctity to this confluence.

Auspicious, indeed, is every moment spent at the Saints' feet.

Without compare is the glory of the Lord, the Saint and the Name,

Which even Brahma cannot describe, says Tuka.

*Triveni: the confluence of the rivers Ganga, Jamuna and Saraswati at Allahabad, regarded as a place of pilgrimage.

oh! mind! Taking the water which is sanctified by the touch of holy feet of devotee who is immersed in the Singing of Divine Name will suffice; why do you have to go to Bhagirathi (Ganges river)?

He has been to the Sacred River Ganga, to Gaya and Kashi, as well as to Pushakaram, on whose tongue reside these two alphabets: HaRi

The three holy names — Rama (Ganga) , Krishna (Yamuna), Govinda (Saraswathi) — constitute a Prayag, a most holy and venerated confluence.

The house where daily Krishna kirtan is done is verily Kasi, Gaya, Kurukshetram, Pushkaram and all the holy places

"Have faith in the name of God. Then you won't need even to go to holy places."
