The Lord is attracted only to devotion

Nama Article 20th March 2013

Excerpts from a discourse by our Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

The Lord is attracted only to devotion. Once, on a stormy night all houses were destroyed but for Nãmdev's house which was but a small hut. In the morning he was stunned to find the hut still holding against the storm. He came out only to find Pãnduranga holding his hut with a hand. Is it necessary for the Omnipotent One to come down to the earth to hold the hut with His hands? Could He not have done this from His abode in Vaikunta? But, this was only to show His 'premai' (Love) and 'soulabhya' (easy access) to His Bhakta.

When Love towards Archavataram (God in form of deity in temple) becomes complete, Bhagavan also completely transcends the limitation of being a 'stationary' deity and starts playing with the devotees.

At that very moment, Lord Shiva turned Himself around in order to listen to Namadev's Nama Sankirtan! Even today, Shiva's vehicle - Nandi - in that temple is located on the back side of the temple!

Where does THE Supreme Omnipotent wants to be?!!

For where two or three are gathered together in My Name, there am I in the midst of them - Matthew: 18:20
