Happy ugadi wishes to all

Today, March 31st 2014, Sri Swamiji performed special Abhishekam and Pooja to Sri Premika Vittala temple at Vittalapuram near Kalpakkam marking the celebrations of Yugadi.

Excerpts from a discourse by our Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

Bhăgavati Mahipati was the grandson of Tukkărăm - his daughter's son. He authored 'Sant Vijayam' in the Marrătti language. He performed 'upanyăs' of his grandfather's life. He realized that the audience nurtured doubt about Tukkărăm attaining to Vaikunta in his physical body. The 'tamboora' that Tukkărăm had used was kept there. Bhăgavati Mahipati prayed, "If it be true that my grandfather had attained to Vaikunta in his physical body let then this 'tamboora' also attain to Vaikunta." No sooner had he prayed than the 'tamboora' moved up and attained Vaikunta!

Thus, Pănduranga is a God who enjoys Nămakirtan. This Maha Mantra -- 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna' is a Mantra of the Upanishads. It has the power to remove all kinds of evils of Kali.

The name Yugadi or Ugadi is derived from the Sanskrit words yuga and ādi: "the beginning of a new age".

Let there be good rains. Let all people enjoy good health. Let all be blessed with all auspiciousness. Let Bhagavăn bless us all with Satsang and ever be with us.

If we do bhakti to one God, to one Mantra in this manner, we can enjoy its ‘phala’ (fruit) very easily

Nama Article 20th March 2014

Excerpts from a discourse by our Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji

Samarta Ramdas performed japa of one mantra only. Bodendra Swami did japa of Rama Mantra only. Sridharayyavãl did japa of Siva Nãma only. Look at Mahans having held on to one Mantra and one God. Did not Ramana Maharishi hold on to Arunachaleswara? Did not Seshadri Swami hold on to Kãmãkshi? Did not Ramakrishna Paramahamsa hold on to Bhavadharini (Kali)? Did not Chaitanya Maha Prabhu hold on to Krishna? Did not Mira hold on to Krishna? Did not Thiagaraja swami hold on to Rama? If we do bhakti to one God, to one Mantra in this manner, we can enjoy its 'phala' (fruit) very easily

It is for this reason that Sri Mahaprabhu described Divine Love as the fifth purushartha (ultimate goal), even surpassing moksha (liberation). Such love blooms only out of selfless devotion to the Lord.

Nama Article 16th March 2014

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji's Namadwaars and GOD satsangs across the world celebrates Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Jayanthi by chanting Mahamantra, Annadhanam to needy and Nagarakirtan on 16th March 2014

This is celebrated as 'Holi' Day.

After Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhuji's descent on earth on this day, it is also a 'holy' day.

Great saints have always been adorning this holy land of India like the perennial flow of Mother Ganges. These exalted souls have been reinforcing righteousness. The whole world, like a tree, stands firm even to-day only by the roots of dharma strengthened thus. There is no doubt that only by the grace of the Lord that one gets an opportunity to read the life histories of such great souls, who, even while living amongst worldly people, have been role models, and whose sole desire has been the welfare of the world.

On this sacred soil of India have appeared innumerable saints who have stressed that, "Human birth is very rare indeed. And the only goal of human-life is God-realisation." They have done a great favour to the laymen by clearly showing the different paths of karma, bhakthi and jnana, to realise God, according to the need of the time,

The incarnation of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the highly glorified of all the great saints of Kali Yuga, was purely to uplift innumerous souls from the clutches of worldly existence and lay them at the holy feet of Lord Krishna. A walking God, Sri Mahaprabhu was the repository of untainted devotion and love. Countless 'jivas' (lives) amply benefitted by this holy incarnation. His biography is fathomless and cannot be easily comprehended by the common man. Only those blessed by Sri Krishna get to know the life-history of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

Sacrifice and detachment are the two most prominent means to attain devotion. Divine love springs only from sublime devotion. It is for this reason that Sri Mahaprabhu described Divine Love as the fifth purushartha (ultimate goal), even surpassing moksha (liberation). Such love blooms only out of selfless devotion to the Lord. The life-history of Sri Chaitanya, who bestowed bliss upon one and all, by exhibiting the rarest and highest states of Bhava (divine trance), will undoubtedly create a permanent picture of the graceful form and the wonderful qualities of the 'love-incarnate' Mahaprabhu and also devotion for Krishna in the reader's mind (heart).

The very name 'Chaitanya Mahaprabhu' reminds one's mind of his 'Hari Naama Sankeerthanam' done in a state of super-consciousness(Bhava Samadhi).

Chaitanya Mahăprabhu, a great scholar that he was, threw away everything and took to incessant chanting of 'eka năma'

Mahaprabhu made lions and tigers sing and dance to the tune of Nama Kirtan. What does this go to show? If you chant the Maha Mantra constantly, the whole world will be at your feet!

While those who have mastered the Mantras to provide relief to mundane worldly pains like scorpion bite etc. hesitate to disclose the Mantras, how compassionate is our Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who has generously given to everyone the greatest of Mantras - the Mahamantra for the welfare of the entire Universe!

Catch hold of the Mahamantra. Chant it continuously, whenever you get time and leave the rest to Him.

When a person utters the Divine Name of Shri krishna, be he a fool, immediately Shri Gauranga (Chaitanya Mahaprabhu) bows down before him in reverence.

I do not know the full potency or the fruitful benefit of chanting the Divine Names. The sweet Name of Shri Krishna dances on my tongue of its own accord.

The fruit attained through the chanting of this single Name of the Lord cannot be attained through any other means. This is the easiest method.

One can attain Liberation if he Chants the Single Name of the Lord again and again. Chanting the Name of the Lord is like traveling in the right direction

Though the Sun's rays are spread equally all over, yet when they are passed through a lens thus directing them through a single point they have the power to burn up

Is it then surprising if such a mind does not remain steadfast on a single path of worship?

Chanting a single Divine Name of the Lord ('eka Năma') helps the chanter deepen his concentration and also helps in sustaining the chanting for long hours effortlessly

Anantha janmanjche(m) thapa eka nama l

A single Divine Name is so powerful that one cannot commit as many sins as it can erase even if he were to take a vow to commit only sins.

Just as an arrow travelling towards its target, the Naama does not stop its work until it shows God to us.

His Holiness Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji, in his kirtan "Ashtadalapoo", beautifully speaks about the eight-petalled flower with which one has to worship the Lord. Each petal he refers to here is a quality that the worshipper should possess: Forgiveness, Truth, Compassion, Peace, Devotion, Dispassion, Love and Knowledge. Great saints have all shown us that the Lord will bestow us with these qualities if one humbly submits to Him in prayer. Hence the key to unlocking all of God's treasures lies in the single quality: Humility.

" All virtues are contained in the highest virtue, that is, H U M I L I T Y.

Likewise, all vices are contained in the one vice, that is, pride.

The excellent qualities in a man do not shine forth if he lacks humility. A man may have many vices but if he were humble this would show him to be a man of good nature.

Adi Sankara commences His Shatpati stotra as, ' Avinayam apanaya vishno.'

'Avinayam' means pride. He prays to the Lord to remove his pride because God graces only those devotees who are devoid of pride.

Chaitanya Mahaprabhu who established Nãma Siddhãnta not only said that a Bhakta should deem himself to be lower than a blade of grass but He also prostrated to everyone.
