You may be the worst sinner, highly undisciplined; you may have committed all kinds of atrocities; yet, if a mahatma declares, "Oh, he is my child", that will suffice for you

The rarest of the rare is getting a Uttama Guru. When you have a Guru, you can peacefully rest.

How do we know that the Guru is pleased with us?

No one else pleases me the most than the ones who Chant Mahamantra!

When a disciple leads his life with the clear understanding that it is the Guru who is running his life - adverse or otherwise, completely emptying the mind of personal likes and dislikes, seeing everything as Guru's leela, attains realization

Guru's Word is the root of Mantra

God is for all. Each and everyone have the right to attain God. Bhagavan Nama japa is the universal way

'Gurohu anugrahenaiva puman puranah prasantaiye'

We would feel that there is none as rich as we are because we have got such a Guru Ratnam

Bhakti is all about showing gratitude.

It is the Guru who shows that way, and the gratitude shown to such a Guru is Guru Bhakti

How to show our gratitude to our Guru?

The only act a true devotee can do is to chant Nama to express the gratitude to the Guru for the grace showered on the devotee.

Chanting the Name of God continuously will invoke the grace of the Guru

Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan :

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare

It will suffice if one would keep chanting ‘Radhe! Radhe!’

What should be done to earn Bhakti in 'Gopi Bhãva'?

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

"Just as there is a mantra to earn money and a mantra for being cured of diseases, to attain 'Prema Bhakti' it will suffice if one would keep chanting 'Radhe! Radhe!' This mantra will certainly bestow 'Gopi bhãva' and 'Prema Bhakti' towards Sri Krishna."

The ultimate result of singing God's names is unconditional love towards one and all.

The service that God has entrusted upon your shoulders is to lend them to me!

If it is even possible for you to make one other person chant the Mahamantra, that is the greatest service you can do to Him

To have the opportunity to serve a Mahatma in some way is indeed the rarest of the rarest.

So if you keep chanting Mahamantra, actually the Guru reaches you!

Take the Name constantly. That is the best Seva.

But if I can make a person chant the name of Hari, I consider this a bigger achievement............

To collect people living around one's home and help them chant the Lord's Name is verily service to the Guru. Or to follow the special instruction given to him/her by the Guru is verily 'service' to the Guru.

Serve the elders, poor and needy and people in misery. That is verily Guru Seva.

Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan :

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare

The omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient Lord understands his worship and out of sheer mercy makes the ‘jeeva’ realize Him through the idol.

Is it right to perform Idol Worship? Or is it sheer foolishness?

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

"The general argument that is placed by those who question idol worship is - 'How can the great God who is omnipresent, and omniscient be confined to a tiny statue or form?' The Omniscient Lord definitely knows that we are worshipping Him through the idol!

Mind is nothing but collection of thoughts. There is nothing called mind, without thoughts. These thoughts are generated at an unbelievable pace owing to our vasanas. One way to stop that flow is to have it focus on something, synonymous to giving an elephant a chain to hold on to, in order to stop the swaying of its trunk. In this case, it is the idol. The all-pervading nameless and formless Brahman is the final state. Hence, as long as you identify yourself with the body, name and form, idol worship is definitely the way to go. "

-----------

Is God personal or Impersonal? If impersonal what is the necessity of idol worship?

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

The Lord is omnipresent and all-pervading. He is full of consciousness and knowledge. It is not possible for a 'jeeva' to visualize such a 'God'. So it is easy and convenient for him to worship God in the form of an idol.

The omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient Lord understands his worship and out of sheer mercy makes the 'jeeva' realize Him through the idol.

Feeling that these Forms alone will not suffice for redemption of the world He also became the Divine Names such as 'Hari!' 'Siva!' and is ever alive in these Names.

It is verily the Name of the Supreme One - the one who creates, sustains and rests it in Himself

Name and the Named are but one

God, Guru, Srimad Bhagavatam and God's Divine Name --- all are one and the same.

The Divine Name of the Lord ('Bhagavan Nãma') has the power to redeem one and all.

God's Name is superior than God's form

Thus we are able to comprehend to a certain extent that there is no difference between the Name of the Lord and the Lord. Don't we?

I love Krishna and am very eager to have His darshan. While I am motivated to engage with Him, I get disturbed by Kama (lust) which strikes me hard. Please advise me a method to win over 'kama'.

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

Don't worry. Just like hunger and thirst, lust is also inborn. No doubt, we have to overcome it. But it is not as easy as we think. It will not be gone one fine morning. It will happen slowly and will take time. Constant prayers and chanting will help this happen.

Just as the flame always burns upward and water flows downward, the minds of all God's creations, from an ant to Brahma, run towards worldly affairs

Everything in our life is predetermined. All we have to do is to turn and fix our mind on Him!

Words of wisdom by a great Gnani and a true bhaktha

You should not only accept from the bottom of your heart the situation that the Lord keeps you in but also be grateful to Him for that because it is verily the Lord's blessing!

The only will we have is the freeing will of choosing to chant whenever we find mind wandering

Everything depends on God's will. What can a man do?

We can resign ourselves to the Will of God and keep away our egosense, only by a continuous remembrance of God

Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan :

I am not able to perform regular prayers in the morning (due to my work schedules) nor in the evening (as I am so much tired after I return from work). This gives me a feeling of guilt of neglecting prayers. However I listen to bhajans when I drive that gives me a great peace of mind and satisfaction. My question, now, is, Are proper prayers a must?

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

Although certain times are considered best for prayers, the key logic behind giving certain time restrictions and rules and regulations to performing prayers is only to enforce people to perform prayers. Otherwise, in general, there are no time restrictions or compulsions for personal prayers. You can do it anywhere, and at any time. Truly, Bhajans are prayers only.

Conversing with God in a personal manner is prayer in itself. Thanking God for all the good things He has given you is prayer in itself. Singing His Divine Name is prayer in itself. Mere hearing of Bhajans is a prayer in itself. So your guilt is unfounded.

Believe in simple prayers

Don't leave the Maha Mantra

Sadhu is the one who accepts whatever comes his way – as the blessings of God and will spend most of his time on prayers.

For your level of maturity it is good to do japa.

When a house is on fire, the smartest thing to do would be to find the fastest escape route out of the house instead of analyzing the cause for the fire.

Kalikaala Uchitam Dharmam Namasankirtanatmakam

What is the power of pracitising prayers, how it can transform a person and why a devotee is dear to Lord Krishna ?

The Divine Name is pregnant with a great power to transform the world. It can create light where there is darkness, love where there is hate, order where there is chaos, and happiness where there is misery

Modern scientific experiments have confirmed that the japa regulates the reciter's respiration

Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan :
