"Have faith in the name of God. Then you won't need even to go to holy places."

Sri Ramakrishna sang, intoxicated with divine fervour:

Why should I go to Ganga or Gaya, to Kasi, Kanchi, or Prabhas,

So long as I can breathe my last with Kali's name upon my lips?

oh! mind! Taking the water which is sanctified by the touch of holy feet of devotee who is immersed in the Singing of Divine Name will suffice; why do you have to go to Bhagirathi (Ganges river)?

He has been to the Sacred River Ganga, to Gaya and Kashi, as well as to Pushakaram, on whose tongue reside these two alphabets: HaRi

The three holy names — Rama (Ganga) , Krishna (Yamuna), Govinda (Saraswathi) — constitute a Prayag, a most holy and venerated confluence.

The house where daily Krishna kirtan is done is verily Kasi, Gaya, Kurukshetram, Pushkaram and all the holy places

If life form is present in everything we eat, isn't eating equal to killing that very life?

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

For sustenance, we need to consume food, don't we? So we do only the minimum harm in order to fetch the food that is needed for sustenance.

If we merely eat without performing bhajan, the harm is not at all justified. It is very much wrong.

That is why it is said that don't live without chanting.

Why should you feel shy about singing the name of God? The proverb says very truly: 'One cannot realize God if one is a victim of shame, hatred, or fear.'

Addressing the doctor, the Master said: "Give up this false modesty. Why should you feel shy about singing the name of God? The proverb says very truly: 'One cannot realize God if one is a victim of shame, hatred, or fear.' Give up such foolish notions as: 'I am such a great man! Shall I dance crying the name of God? What will other great men think of me on hearing of this? They may say that the doctor, poor fellow, has been dancing uttering the name of Hari, and thus pity me.' Give up all these foolish notions."

MASTER to actors: "….. What more shall I tell you? Keep your mind on God. Don't forget Him. God will certainly reveal Himself to you if you pray to Him with sincerity. Another thing. Sing the name of God at the end of each performance. Then the actors, the singers, and the audience will go home with the thought of God in their minds."

The actors saluted the Master and took their leave.

One should constantly repeat the names of God irrespective of any activity that he might be involved in

Start the day with Nama, fill the day with Nama, end the day with Nama!

Let us start all our work by chanting Shri Ram. Let us always stick to the good behaviour.

One should make it a habit to take the Name of God frequently. Every time a question is put forth to you, stop a while. Do not answer immediately. Take the Name of the Lord twice

Hence on daily basis we can try whether we can think only about God 's name before we go for a sleep

By hearing or seeing others following some spiritual practices we should not confuse ourselves. We should be stead fast in following the path of Namakirtan which is true, the easiest, can be followed by one-and-all and fondly preferred by the Lord.

On this auspicious day of Saraswati Pooja, let us pray to the Divine Mother of Knowledge to bestow us abundant knowledge and in addition, humility, faith and perseverance. May Goddess Saraswati bless us so that we keep the Mahamantra on our lips every moment of our life.

Bhagavãn Sri Krishna's dialogue with His loving devotee, Uddhava. (Srimad Bhãgavatam - 11th Skanda)

Uddhava: "What is 'balam' (strength)?"

Sri Krishna: "Prãnayama is the best 'balam'!"

Uddhava: "What is 'Bãgyam' (fortune)?"

Sri Krishna: "To attain my 'iswarya' is the best 'bãgyam'!"

Uddhava: "What is 'lãbam' (profit)?"

Sri Krishna: "To earn Bhakti for me is the best 'lãbam'!"

Uddhava: "What is 'Vidya' (learning/education)?"

Sri Krishna: "That which removes duality (that we are different from the atman) is 'vidya'!"

Uddava: "What is 'vetkam' (embarrassment)?"

Sri Krishna: "Disgust in wicked deeds is 'vetkam'!"

Uddhava: "What is 'Sri' ('iswarya' - wealth)?"

Sri Krishna: "Atma gunas such as desirelessness in worldly affairs is 'Sri'!"

Uddhava: "What is 'Sukha' (joy)?"

Sri Krishna: "It is 'sukha' when the mind experiences neither joy nor happiness!"

Uddhava: "What is 'Dukha' (sorrow)?"

Sri Krishna: "The desire to enjoy pleasures of senses like sensual pleasure is 'dukha'!"

Uddhava: "Who is a 'Pundit' (Scholar)?"

Sri Krishna: "One who knows what is 'banda' (binding) and what is 'Moksha' (liberation) is a Pundit!" (Not the one who has mere theoretical knowledge, through the the study of the Shastras that 'samsãra' is the binding factor and Moksha is to get out of it. Only one who realizes this in experience and frees himself is the one who has truly known 'banda' and 'Moksha')

ரயில் வண்டி தண்டவாளத்தின் மீது ஓடுவது போல் மஹாமந்திர கீர்த்தனையின் பலத்தில் தான் வாழ்க்கை ஓட வேண்டும்

Like a train runs on the track, our life should run on the strength of Mahamantra kirtan.

When our mind catches hold of a God or a Năma (Name of the Lord), the mental strength is protected without being wasted.

If we think of God and pray to Him for His guidance and His grace, we shall derive strength to battle against these temptations and conquer our weaknesses

Surdas says that when a man has exhausted all his resources and invokes the Name of God, His grace descends upon him.

Only through spiritual strength does one attain to purity, and this is possible only through Nama Sankirtan

The power of Nama gives strength to innumerable people

When we are idle, mind starts to play its game. If we do not want the mind to go astray, one should chant the Mahamantra kirtan incessantly. This is the easiest path.

If you sincerely pray to get the obstacle removed, your prayer shall be fulfilled

Chanting the Name is prayer; There is no need to pray seperately

If the mind troubles?

"It is all right even if you do not hold your senses under control. Keep doing Năma Sankirtan. The 'indriyăs' (senses) will automatically come under control!"

The Mahamaya (greatest illusion), the mind, can be brought under control slowly and steadily by Namakirtan alone.

By its power, the countess millions of sins are destroyed.

The chanting of His name once is a fruit of penance performed in the previous countless births

Amongst all paths it is the easiest pathway to Liberation.

For one who chants the name of God, Neither yoga nor the ritual of yajna is needed;

The injunctions of duty do not pertain to him; He transcends all illusion.

Jnanadev says: No other practices, Or rituals, or rules of conduct are necessary

Only due to merits earned in crores of births does Bhagavan Năma come on our tongue

The one who chants the Divine Names of the Lord is above all religions and castes.

We come across many Gurus. Each one of them prescribes a path. Which one should be followed? What is to be done?

The path of Bhakti is, undoubtedly, the easiest of all mărgas to attain Bhagavăn; not only for this Yuga (Age) but also for all Yugăs

The fruit attained through the chanting of this single Name of the Lord cannot be attained through any other means. This is the easiest method.

Having compassion of the Lord as the foundation, the one which has no rules, the one which can eradicate the force of Kali, Namakirtanam is the only resort.

Whether your interest be in Yoga, Meditation or Vedanta, chanting Mahamantra for some time will purify your mind and enable you to proceed in your own path comfortably

Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan :

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
